Hoxton Park Airport Welcomes Government Approval Of Its Master Plan
Hoxton Park Airport welcomed the announcement by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Regional Services, John Anderson, approving the Draft Master Plan.
“Hoxton Park Airport is pleased the Draft Master Plan has been approved with the Minister Anderson, acknowledging there will be minimal change to airport operations until the lease with the Commonwealth expires in 2008, and the airport reverts to freehold title,” said Mr Kim Ellis, Chief Executive Officer, Hoxton Park Airport.
“The Airport is located at the intersection of Cowpasture Road and the Westlink M7. The development of this valuable land will give a boost to the local economy through job creation and new businesses coming to the site,” outlined Mr Ellis.
In line with the terms of the airport sale, Hoxton Park Airport will continue to operate under the Airports Act 1996 until 2008 after which time it will revert to freehold title. The redevelopment of the Hoxton Park site will be in accordance with relevant state and local planning laws.
“The existing tenants at Hoxton Park Airport have already made alternative arrangements for the relocation of their businesses after the cessation of aviation activities in 2008. Both Bankstown and Camden Airports have detailed the capacity to absorb the Hoxton Park general aviation traffic in their respective Master Plans,” concluded Mr Ellis.
Copies of the Master Plan and Environment Strategy are available on our website – www.bankstownairport.com.au and for purchase on CD-Rom for $10 from the Bankstown Airport Management Centre.
